Nominacije za nagradu Britanskog društva za fantastiku

Britansko društvo za fantastiku (BFS) objavilo je nominacije za ovogodišnju Britansku nagradu za fantastiku. U kategoriji za najbolji roman nalazi se šest ostvarenja, među kojima i knjiga Lavija Tidhara “A Man Lies Dreaming” o zatvoreniku koncentracionog logora koji zamišlja alternativni svet gde je Adolf Hitler londonski privatni detektiv.

Pored ovog romana, za nagradu će se takmičiti i “Breed” K.T. Dejvisa, koji opisuje potragu za čekićem drevnog junaka; “City of Stairs” Roberta Džeksona Beneta, pripovest o ubistvu diplomate u gradu uništenih bogova; roman Nila Vilijamsona “The Moon King”, čija radnja je smeštena u gradu za koji je privezan mesec; i “The Relic Guild” Edvarda Koksa koji prati pokušaje devojčice obdarene magijom da preživi u gradu u kome se upotreba magije strogo kažnjava.

Poslednji naslov u užem izboru je “Cuckoo Song”, dečije spisateljice Frensis Harding, priča koja prati jedanaestogodišnju devojčicu koja zamalo izbegava davljenje samo da bi se obrela u svetu u kome ništa nije kako bi trebalo da bude, a glas u  glavi odbrojava dane do njene smrti.

Nagrada za najbolji horor roman pripašće jednom od naslova među kojima su i romani Emili St Džon Mandel “Station Eleven” i “The Girl with all the Gifts” M.R. Kerija.

Uži izbor za nagradu ustanovljenu 1972. godine čiji laureati uključuju Majkla Murkoka, Stivena Kinga, Tanitu Li, Džina Vulfa i Remzija Kembela najvećim delom sastavljaju članovi Britanskog društva za fantastiku i posetioci FantasyCon-a, a pobednik će biti proglašen u oktobru, na FantasyCon-u u Notingemu.
